To me there is no definite photographer or photo style I love or like, I approach each photo individually, playing with it seeing what is the end result. Sometimes I will play with them in photoshop, sometimes I will draw and doodle over them, recolour them or add etching over the top. Thing is as an artist, and free thinker I live in pretty free world where I try to determine what I like, I experiment and try the new things. For me the whole assignment wasnt about conforming it was about exploring, and since essence of the man is what interests me, their soul, I have decided to try to capture it, using a number of techniques (do not kill me for this David)... some I have printed and drawn over, some I have modified in photoshop, however in each I have attempted to capture the essence of the man, the being, the soul, or whatever you want to call it. Through a few I wanted to explore of what makes child a child, the motion of life, some have been my partner sleeping or doing what he loves that is video games, trying to capture them when they dont pay attention to camera. I do not like preplanning and telling them there is a pose please strike it, or smile on demand, life is full of unexpected, so my photos of them are as well. Two most important people in my life are my muse, reflect the nature of mankind to me, are my light, and move me forward.
To be honest I like a lot of photographers, I like many different styles, however I cannot conform to what they do, I want to do my own thing, explore medium in my own way, make my own path, do my own thing. One thing about me, I am never about conforming or imitating, or hopping on one foot (even though I twisted my ankle 2 days ago and I am still limping) I like to make my own mind about things, instead of following "though shall follow that path" I chose the path less walked on, full of thorns, even though its harder it is my own.

Art more marketable
Looking to give it another go to trying to sell my art, and finding art that sells. Well I guess no one will teach me what sells, how to find my market, art pimp etc, and how to pimp my own work so I am going back to things I know just with more eye pleasing approach.
Last few attempts I had were with my finger doodles that used to sell, however it is very hard competing with chinese prints on ebay being sold as ORIGINAL oil paintings, sold for 99c, where as soon one is sold other one exactly same is being listed. I realise most people wont buy art for the art sake, but for the sake of it looking on wall, matching with sofa and carpet, and making sure they can brag about it, and get few oohs and aaaahs from visitors from their home. Most of the time they will buy nude that does not show anything for the sake of saying they have the nude on the wall, however as soon as you show breasts or do full front painting or work it will be harder to sell. I can pretend pretty well oh I can do outsider art, do few emo strokes on side and make up story to follow, because you know people love the story that goes with the painting, and hell no one wants to hear "I made painting to sell because I have to pay bills." They would rather hear some emo bullshit to go with the story "waaaahhhh I want to slash my wrists" or "Life is so cruel" or "He ditched me" or some cryptic crap where I wont say anything at all and use these metaphors that mean nothing.
For once i would like to hear an expert advice, well you do this kind of art, and in order to make it sellable and marketable you need to do this this and this. Its fine to gain all these skills in drawing atschool, but what is the point of the skill if we do not have the skill to market the art. To be able to make some money out of art, one has to be social butterfly or have good pimp behind them. Get one to talk, let them give us expert advice.
Friend of mine while back went to art pimp (ooops sorry should say dealer, or necessary evil) and his advice was well the paintings are awesome and marketable but in order to sell them make your signature bigger, and these are reasons why... And sure enough friend of mine made his signature bigger more obvious and distinct and there come the sales. So now lets get back to it why the size of signature matters? Why does a nude have to hide the breasts or be pretty, or emo, why cant it just be an expression of the artist? Why the painting has to be tis pretty old cottage with colourful bright blowers, or fish on plate or bowl of fruit? How much does one have to change their style, their subject in order to hit the market? How do I find the market and profile, and who the hell are my market? Are they bored housewives looking for few cheap items to decorate their living room? or grandma who collects nudes to put them in album (yes I had one of those in past) Is my audience going to be some 25-35 year old female, with average level of education with mediocre cultural background who wants to show her best face in front of her friends? So what do I do? Do I betray myself, bend and say how far before i end up with broomstick where sun does not go? So where is happy medium? How does one find it? What is it that distinguishes between elvis and velvet and art, or is elvis on velvet an artwork to begin with? What is the line how far is it before i cross it too far beyond point of return?

Whats the point
Whats the point of 2,500 "friends" on facebook? Few Daily Deviations on Deviantart.com, being gallery director on Deviantart.com for a while, featured artist on myartspace.com, front page feature on myartspace.com, few magazine articles, front page in newspapers... it does not eventuate to anything useful in the end...
For people in class since I will be moving soon and have too much art to move, if you would like a painting or something let me know giving them away....
Now back to chasing paperwork for new house. So much to sign in 10 copies... so much running around.

Beginning of new life
For me over the past year has been very rough, going through divorce, abandoning lifestyle I knew, realising that one of my dreams was just a wish not a want, downsizing from 43 square house to renting, getting more sick, dealing with 6 year old who has hard time dealing with me and her dad splitting up, beginning new relationships, going to TAFE, meeting new people... However things are looking up now.
I found new home, actually I made offer on it that got accepted, so Sunbury here I come. I am leaving SE and E suburbia and going west, where a lot of people of my ethnic background live which would make my life a bit more easy hopefully. I found a beautiful 3 bedroom home, with work-shed for my art, small one however cosy and fully renovated, that should be easy to maintain for me and my daughter. I am looking towards starting new life, meeting new people, turning new leaf, and hopefully my life will be brighter and happier than it has been recently.
So YAYYYYY!!!!

Proposal
I would like to explore capturing human personality through photography and combining it with the traditional media. To be honest I am mostly interested in old photos, old fashioned ones that were done using the method of Photogravure, but I do not think we have the facilities at TAFE to do that. I am also interested into etching the photos, something called Silver Etching process described here: http://www.appillinois.com/html/Article.php?x=5 however I do not know if i can do it...
So because of that I will have to revert to what I know and see what I can do. I would like to combine etching on A4 format, with the photo and then use method of oilgraphs that Kevin Rolly uses to produce the series of capturing the essence of the person, what makes one unique, special, something that is dominant about them, their personality, to tell their story. I want it to go beyond just a portrait, beyond just a face, to be something dominant and special, to capture ones soul.
Another photographer I admire is figure photographer Marcus Ranum. I was contemplating combining that with my own style and methods described by Kevin Rolly, adjusted by my own experiments to capture the person.
Also lino cut is driving me nuts. When ever i start working on it I get horrible migraine and cant work on it for too long. There must be something in it that I am allergic to or is bothering me. I am not quite sure what yet.

Questions...
Which is more important quality or quantity of life? Which is more important quantity or quality of art? Which is more important chasing dream or someone else's happiness? Which is more important to destroy in order to prolong or have some sense of control and joy?
